I know, it's been forever since I updated my blog and I'm a bad blogger for it. Things have been hectic around here to say the least and I have lots of excuses... just teasing. We have had lots of grey days here which has been fantastic and I'm serious. In between the grey days, we have had some scorching hot weather, requiring lots of watering, which is exactly why the grey days have been welcomed. Everything is loving the growing season and weather, even though it's just time now to plant warm weather crops as the temps have been dipping down to eight or lower some evenings/overnight. Too cool for tomatoes, peppers, ground cherries, melons, cukes, zukes, squashes etc.. Everything else we have planted is thoroughly enjoying the warm day growing temperatures, usually followed by a rainy day or a good watering from me. Seed germination has been fantastic without there being too many chances for the seed and soil to dry out completely. So far we have planted : new asparagus, artichokes, beets, corn,bush beans, pole beans, carrots, celery, celeriac, scallions and onions, kohlrabi, potatoes, peas, radishes, rutabagas, our fall planted garlic and various mixed greens like : Bok Choy, lettuces of all kinds, spinach, arugula, swiss chard, broccoli raab, mustard greens and mizuna.

Inside the cold frame. Letting a lot of things go to flower and then seed, some for saving the seeds and some for flowers for the bees and other pollinators.
The greens bed again. This was planted at the same time as the peas and then covered with a row cover until just recently when the row cover was making some of the greens too hot and had to be removed.

My strawberry bed that I am proud to announce, I ate a strawberry from yesterday.
Last but certainly not least, one of my two asparagus beds, the other one is in the main garden. Sadly, we're done harvesting asparagus for this year, what a treat to grow your own!
