Year two with the flowers. 

We managed to muscle the lilacs out of this bed, which was not an easy task, and planted these euphorbia. The euphorbia did not make it through that winter. The hosta in the middle is quite a bit larger these days. 

We tilled up and added this bed that year. Excuse my ugly deck, it's gone now. I planted these Asiatic lilies and planted a bunch of petunias to fill in the spaces.

We tilled up and added this flowerbed  which we filled with perennials. I seeded our lawn with a triple mix containing a lot of clover and these weeds are pretty much history.
