A loaf of sourdough. There is no commercial yeast added to this bread what-so-ever! It rises with help from Mother Nature. If you'e interested in sourdough baking, here's a link to an old blog post to get your started.
What a fantastic looking loaf. You know Jessica..I didn't like sourdough bread for ages, but think..it is the mother that makes the difference and each are different. I love it now.
I am not on twitter but I do enjoy your posts..they make me ask..mmmm..wonder what that conversation was about.
Looking forward to a good year ahead...the captain is going to make fish boxes to grow tomatoes in and maybe winter squash. Seed orders gone in..positive on the horizon. Come on March!!!
Thank you! My starter just gets better and better the more I use it. I don't each much sourdough myself at all, I make it for my boyfriend who regularly eats bread.
I've got you completely confused with another person I follow on twitter then! It is Bren @BG_garden. I shouldn't have assumed you were the same person! If you're not on twitter, you may consider joining, as I follow mostly garden related posters and learn a lot!
I am so looking forward to March as well, I'll be starting seeds here sooner than later as I'm growing some artichokes, more asparagus and celery again this year and they all need the early start. After the bounty we had last year, I'm hoping to produce even more this year...weather permitting! Best of luck to you in the new gardening year, it will be here before you know it!
