More Signs of Spring.

Just as our onions run out from last year, chives save the day. Add chives to salads, potatoes, pastas, vegetable dishes and anywhere else you would use onions. Make a tea from fresh chives or eat them raw like I do, resulting in perpetual chive breath.

Chives are a very good source of fibre, vitamin c, vitamin a, vitamin k, riboflavin, B6, Folate, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium and manganese while containing other nutrients, making chives are very nutrient rich food. More reason to nibble on the stalks.

Purple glory of the snow about to make an appearance.

Purple crocus before they open.
